Established in 1974, Lupus Hawaii was founded with the purpose of offering assistance to those affected with lupus. Through the heart and dedication of parents who lost a child, with their friend who shared their pain, a journey began to share information and support to our community about peoplesuffering from a disease that was relatively unknown. They did it through music, entertainment and guest speaking. They went into the schools and the communities.

Soon, they were joined by two friends, who were also patients, and together created educational classes and supprt groups and incorporation with a non-profit status.  This is our legacy, the basis for our purpose and journey.
